The Wind is an indie horror game, adapted from a short film (or indie film) of the same name. Possessing a classic graphic style similar to old DOS games, the game does not need spectacular images to instill fear. By exploiting the player's imagination and combining creepy sounds and tense gameplay, The Wind creates a rustic yet haunting horror experience.

Although simple, it is that minimalism that makes the fear seep into every step. You will be encouraged to play the game in the dark and turn up the volume to fully feel the vague nightmare that the game brings.

The Wind Game Story

You will play as Lizzy, a lonely woman in the wilderness, where death and mysterious disappearances seem to be covering everything. It all started on a windy day. Isaac and Gideon – the people close to them – have left. Emma is recorded as dead. Only Lizzy is left to fight the cold storm and the heartbreaking loneliness. While trying to find the items blown away by the wind, Lizzy quickly realises that this place hides something much darker than the wind.

Strange noises echo from Emma and Gideon's house, which is supposed to be abandoned. A strange black book that once belonged to Emma appears. The mention of Mara, the Soul Reaper, incites horror. Strange shadows hover; unanswered questions gradually push Lizzy into a terrifying delirium. You have to fight mysterious creatures and pick up every bullet and every little item to survive. But can you escape the cold hands of the thing hiding in the wind?

The Wind Gameplay

The game has simple but dramatic gameplay. Players move in a pixelated space, explore the area, pick up items, and defend themselves from unexpected dangers. The sound and visuals, though minimal, are handled with extreme sophistication, making every footstep or flickering light capable of making your heart stop. The game constantly puts you in a state of uncertainty – not knowing when you will be hunted and whether you are capable of fighting back. Every choice, every hesitation, can lead to death.

Despite its dated graphics, The Wind proves that fear lies not in visual tricks but in the player's imagination. Don't stop here! Keep exploring new adventures on our site. Would you like to try Aurora 2.
