GAVRIL is a horror visual novel with a dark comedy twist, where you play as Nina, a girl who wakes up in the middle of the night after hearing a loud noise downstairs. The problem is… you live alone. No pets, no family, no one else in the house. So you have to go check it out yourself.

GAVRIL Game Story

After deciding to grab a baseball bat and head downstairs, Nina discovers a strange man in her house—Gavril. Instead of screaming or running away, she knocks him out and… ties him to a chair for interrogation. And so begins the strangest conversation of the night.

Gavril wakes up, seemingly comfortable despite being tied up. He talks as if this is just a casual acquaintance. From here, the player can choose how to react—stay silent, use a flashlight, talk, or… call the police. Each choice leads to a different outcome, from instant death to seemingly harmless conversations that turn out to be extremely deviant.

Who is GAVRIL?

Gavril is no ordinary man. The thing you stumble upon in the darkness—the slippery, moving object—turns out to be part of his body. He calls it a companion, a thing that is part tool, part living thing. It crawls, slithers, and spreads all over your body if you let it near. In some endings, it is depicted as swallowing Nina whole, which leaves her with a numb and empty feeling. But strangely, not all endings are horror. Some are… romantic?

When GAVRIL Becomes a Friend

If the player chooses to talk to him kindly and feed him—especially cheese—Gavril will begin to open up. You can give him food, ask him questions, and even be called a friend. From there, the game reveals different versions of the relationship:

  • You truly fill him up and satisfy him—Ending Spared.
  • You make him frustrated and get swallowed—Ending Delayed Fate.
  • You act cool—and he steals all the food and leaves.

Alternatively, you can choose to give him a chance. Then the game opens up Bonus Ending: Love?, where Gavril confesses his love and leaves his phone number.

GAVRIL is incredibly captivating in the way it transitions from horror to intimacy so smoothly, but… not without its creepiness. Gavril’s voice is always a little sweeter than usual, as if he wants to talk to you and devour you at the same time. The game is both scary and intriguing, and if you’re a fan of the crazy boyfriend genre, then yes—this is the one for you.
