The Mannequin is a short horror game set in an old house in London. The player takes on the role of a character who visits the house but quickly realizes that it is not normal.

How to play The Mannequin

While exploring, you will:

  • Go through the rooms looking for clues.
  • Turn on and off the lights, and flip switches, although most of them are broken or work strangely.
  • Discover objects covered in white cloth; sometimes they are creepy mannequins.
  • Pick up and place some items (like parts of a mannequin) to continue further.
  • Develop photos in the darkroom to reveal hidden details in the story. The details you find, from old newspapers to photos in the darkroom, gradually piece together a haunting picture.

Atmosphere in The Mannequin

The Mannequin does not rely much on sudden scares but mainly creates a sense of anxiety through:

  • The house is large but quiet.
  • The sound of rain falling, and jazz music suddenly plays.
  • The doors slam shut, and the hallways are dimly lit.
  • Mannequins can be seen standing still, disappearing, or appearing unexpectedly.

The Mannequin is a short experience, combining exploration and storytelling. Players need to observe carefully, solve details in the house and patiently put together clues to understand the truth. Although it is only a demo, the game has brought a creepy, mysterious atmosphere and is enough to keep players engaged until the end.
