Some puzzle games feel like… homework. But Her Trees: The Puzzle House is different. It's like stepping into a small house nestled among trees, where everything is hand-drawn, quiet… and a little quirky in its own unique way.
From the very first minutes, the game evokes the vibe of titles like Rusty Lake or Birth, but lighter and less gloomy. Everything revolves around a cube-shaped space where you move back and forth between the “tree branches” and each small room, each a separate puzzle.
You can move left and right between areas, each like a separate tree branch. There are no specific instructions, just you and things that seem… completely unrelated.
Examples: Arrange cats into a “tower” to reveal a letter. Analyze the puzzle pieces to reveal a hidden character. Use “negative space” to identify the true shape.
The game doesn't pressure you; there's no time limit. But don't let the chill look fool you. Some puzzles will leave you stunned for a few minutes just to realize, "Ah, I was looking in the wrong direction from the start.”
Everything feels handcrafted: the brushstrokes are soft, slightly off-center, and very human; the sounds are gentle enough to keep you focused; small details like cats and leaves create a strangely vivid feeling. The moment you solve a puzzle doesn't come from pure logic but like a flash of inspiration. And that's when the game becomes addictive.
Her Trees: The Puzzle House doesn't try to overwhelm you. It quietly poses quirky questions and waits for you to find the answers yourself. If you want a change of pace for something more chaotic, where things are no longer lighthearted but instead… cruelly humorous, then try Sticky Road: Flash is Dead.
