Among Us is a social deduction game where you and other players are thrown into the same spaceship. Each person takes on a secret role: Crewmate or Impostor.

It sounds simple. However, within a few minutes, the situation becomes chaotic. Some try to complete their tasks, while others secretly sabotage. Conversations gradually turn into a web of suspicion, where you and I can be both allies… and potential accomplices.

How to Play Among Us

Crewmate's Objective

If you are a Crewmate, your objective is clear: complete all tasks on the map or find the Impostor and vote them out. You will move through areas like Electrical, Admin, O2… to complete small tasks. But remember, keep an eye out. Because one moment of inattention and you could become the next victim.

Impostor's Objective

If you are an Impostor, the rules of the game change completely. You need to pretend to be a normal Crewmate, but in reality, you're sabotaging and eliminating people one by one. You can sabotage to create chaos, move through vents to escape, and create an alibi by going with others. Victory comes when the number of Impostors equals or exceeds the number of Crewmates.

How a game unfolds

A game of Among Us usually revolves around two states:

  • Free roam: everyone moves around, does quests, or… looks for opportunities to attack.
  • Meeting: when someone reports a body or presses the emergency button, everyone will argue and vote.

The problem is, the more people talk, the more confused things get. No one remembers who they were with.

Some easier-to-understand gameplay tips

Always go with others (but don't trust them completely)

If you go with the wrong person, you'll be killed, but you also get an alibi. Trust them just enough.

Observe their behavior, not just their words

Impostors can talk very well. But actions are what betray them, such as pretending to do tasks, appearing in illogical locations, leaving the area right before finding a body, and not talking too much without evidence. Talking too much but vaguely will only make you more suspicious. In Among Us, knowing when to stay silent is sometimes the key to survival.

Utilize the map and cameras

Cameras, admin tables, and logs can help you determine who is where. This is a crucial weapon if you play seriously. For Impostors: patience is everything. Don't kill too early or too recklessly. A good kill is when no one suspects you beforehand.

Among Us is not just a game of finding the impostor. It's a test of your observation, reasoning, and… communication skills. You can start with a clear plan. But in just a few minutes, everything will turn into a spiral of suspicion, misunderstanding, and endless arguments. If you enjoy old-school Flash-style horror games, we have Earth Taken.
