SCP: Bloodwater is a tower defence and management strategy game inspired by the SCP universe and specifically revolving around SCP-354 – an entity also known as “Red Pool.” As the newly appointed Site Director in this area, you will have to both mine “Red Meat”—a ”strange biological substance from the blood pool—and try to hold your base against the continuous attacks of SCP entities coming from the lake.

SCP: Bloodwater Story

At the beginning of the game, you are appointed as the new Director of the Red Pool Containment Zone. Your job is not only to manage resources and coordinate personnel but also to command combat units to protect the research area from waves of anomalous creatures emerging from SCP-354.

The main goal is to mine “Red Meat” (SCP-354-A)—a biological substance that can be processed and sold to organisations around the world. This revenue will help the site operate without support from the central Foundation. However, to get Red Meat, you must use D-Class personnel—people who are considered consumables—and send them into dangerous areas, where even a moment of carelessness can cost the entire team.

Gameplay: A combination of tower defence, real-time strategy and resource management

Main system

Red Meat mining: Use D-Class to collect materials, bring them back to process, and sell or use them to upgrade the base.

Tower defence and combat: SCP creatures from the Red Pool will continuously emerge in waves, especially fiercely at night. You must reasonably deploy troops between classes of soldiers, such as D-Class, Side Guards and Maders, to defend.

Reputation is the primary resource used for recruiting soldiers. If the soldiers survive and return, you gain reputation. If they die, you lose everything.

Management and Upgrades: The game allows you to upgrade your base, unlock research labs, develop technology, and increase your defences against the terrifying attacks of SCP-354-A.

Notable features

  • Multiple difficulty modes: Easy, Normal, and Hard with "Euclid" or "Keter" levels, simulating the level of danger in the SCP world.
  • Real-time mechanics: You must make quick decisions to deploy, rescue, or retreat in time.
  • Survival challenge: The game ends when you destroy the base or deplete your reputation. Every decision has a price.

Player reviews

SCP: Bloodwater has a high difficulty, especially in Keter mode—where waves of monsters continuously flood in, forcing you to manage resources extremely reasonably. Some new players may feel overwhelmed at first, but once they get used to the game's rhythm, they realise this is an attractive tactical challenge.

Having to sacrifice D-Class for resources, and balancing between investing more troops or protecting reputation, creates a constant dilemma. Add in the creepy setting of SCP-354, and the game offers a different and nerve-wracking experience.
