Longest Night is a hand-drawn 2D game — but don’t let its light appearance fool you. The world inside is a long sleepwalking nightmare, where every breath is cold and your lungs are numb, and everything around you is a blur like a fading memory.

Longest Night game story

You play as a nameless man. No past. No clues. All you know is that you woke up in an unfamiliar room — rotting wood, pale blue light, and the smell of cold snow filling your lungs. You don't understand why you’re here. But he does.

Jack Frost. He is a humanoid creature, pale as death, with eyes that follow you — neither quite evil nor quite friendly. He says he saved you. But from what? And for what?

Jack lives alone on a snowy mountaintop, in a cabin cut off from all reality. It’s both warm and stifling — as if the very walls are whispering secrets you should never hear. Every object in the room seems to have seen something. And you begin to wonder: are they still watching?

How to play Longest Night

No fighting. No running. There are only words and silence.

You talk to Jack. You are speaking directly to the room. The room is filled with fragments of memory that fall along the way. Each choice of dialogue unfolds the story and changes the way Jack treats you — as if he's testing… something.

The truth never comes straight. Everything is loops, echoes, and broken mirrors.

Notable elements

  • Shattered memories: The main character has amnesia, and you have to piece together the fragments scattered throughout the environment and dialogue. But sometimes, remembering can be the most dangerous thing.
  • The ambiguous relationship: What is between you and Jack? A connection? A game? A ritual being reenacted? Jack could either be the savior or the cage keeper.
  • Surreal & Parodic: The dialogue is philosophical, darkly satirical, and sometimes... oddly romantic. You never know who you're talking to — the living, a ghost, or your true self. Longest Night is a quiet, dark, and deeply psychological journey where you have to fumble in the darkness to find yourself — or accept that you've never been who you thought you were. If you love slow, metaphorical stories that are as cold as snow and as chilling as the wind, this is one long night you won't soon forget.

If darkness and the mysterious thrill you, don't miss Undying The Beast.
