In Darkness I See is a horror game that puts you in a dark room with a locked door, the only way to escape. The game is psychologically dramatic with lots of jumpscares, three locks, three keys, and a house that is not meant for you.
As soon as you enter the game, you know you are not welcome. A large door with three locks blocks the way, and you have only one choice: start rummaging through each drawer, moving at a suspiciously slow pace.
The deeper you go into the house, the more you realize something is watching you. It is not clearly visible. It does not make a loud noise. But every time you turn off the lights, or forget to turn them on, then it appears. And you should not go near it.
Where there is light, there is life. The game exploits a simple idea: light is life, and darkness is an invitation to death. Every room has a light switch. You have to keep turning on the light. There are no weapons available and no means to fight back; just run towards the light as quickly as you can.
Your pursuer is a female creature with no shape; only her breathing and terrifying presence can be heard in the dark corner. They do not attack immediately, but they are always close. Every step towards the lock is a bet on survival.
When you step out of the darkness of In Darkness I See, your heart is still pounding and your fear has not yet subsided, because you know that the light is only temporary. You have survived, but you feel deep inside: you have just gone through a fierce battle with your own survival instinct. And if you want to continue exploring those haunting limits, try I Was So Hungry.
