Hexbound

Hexbound is a first-person shooter (FPS) featuring a retro pixel-art style. It builds upon the foundation of classic run-and-gun FPS games, incorporating magic, weapon upgrades, and exploration.

Levels unfold across expansive areas filled with multiple paths, secrets, and enemies lurking from every direction. You will encounter demons, monsters, robots, and bosses that tower over standard foes. Hexbound evokes a heavy, ominous atmosphere. Alien landscapes, dark dungeons, and creature designs create the sensation that you are exploring a place where humanity was never meant to set foot.

Hexbound Game Story

The year is 2184, and Earth is dying. Humanity’s technology has reached its zenith, yet the ecosystem can no longer sustain life. The Aethelgard space research station initiates an intergalactic migration in search of a new home.

But space is far from empty. Ancient creatures and parasitic entities lie in wait on alien worlds. When the Prometheus fleet was dispatched to explore these unknown realms, everything went according to plan—until Stellar Cycle 251, when the entire fleet vanished. All communication signals ceased abruptly, leaving no explanation behind.

You must venture into these cosmic dungeons to uncover the truth of what happened.

Hexbound Gameplay

Each level begins with exploring a perilous area and finding the way to the exit. Along the way, you must battle waves of enemies, gather resources, uncover secrets, and prepare for increasingly difficult encounters.

Enemies won't simply stand still waiting to be shot. Some attack from a distance with projectiles or missiles, while others flank you from behind or ambush you as you delve deeper into the level. Constant movement is crucial. Strafe sideways to dodge incoming fire, keep your surroundings in view, and always identify an escape route in case you get surrounded. Standing still for too long can cause you to rapidly lose HP.

Choose your weapon based on the situation

Not every enemy should be dealt with using the same weapon. Switch weapons depending on the distance and the type of opponent facing you.
Magic is also part of the combat system. Using it at the right moment can create breathing room when you are cornered or need an advantage against a group of powerful monsters.

Hexbound combines the feel of a classic FPS with a sci-fi world teeming with monsters, magic, and unsolved mysteries.
