How to play Grimwood Path

Basic controls

• Use S to pick up items, mark locations, climb, push objects, interact with the environment, or hide.
• Hold S to perform actions, such as ducking into small passages, running away in fear, or performing quick-time events.
• You cannot run continuously: the character will gasp and tire if he tries to run, forcing the player to carefully calculate the time to move.

Outstanding gameplay mechanics

• The items you can pick up include torn cloth, rope, knife, battery, flashlight, and crowbar. all play an important role in the process of healing, opening paths and survival.
• Environmental interaction: You can push objects, climb, cut trees, open doors closed with wooden boards, or mark the location you have passed to avoid getting lost.
• Switching between foreground and background: The space-level switching mechanism helps players access hidden paths and open up new story branches.

Journey in Grimwood Path

Early stage: Escape and survival

The story begins with two brothers running away in the forest. The main character injured his leg after a fall and needs to find rope to make a splint. Players take turns collecting clothes, ropes, and other items to restore their jumping and climbing abilities.

Mid-game: Weapons and darkness

After finding a knife and flashlight, the player begins to explore deeper in dark areas. You need light to walk through unfamiliar paths and use the knife to break obstacles such as vines or small trees.

• Explore the wooden house: An abandoned house hidden in the woods opens up an important turning point. Here, the player can pick up a crowbar, which can be used to pry open wooden planks, open access to new areas, and pick up more clues.
• Encountering a strange creature: Finally, the mysterious creature appears again. The player must choose: keep your courage or run away. A quick-time event will decide whether you can save your brother.
