Death Sketchbook is a Point & Click crime investigation game with hand-drawn elements, where you find clues and draw them. The game begins mysteriously: you assume the role of an unidentified character, unaware that you are tasked with investigating the death of Richard Green, a veteran, father, and husband.

How to play Death Sketchbook

  • You will use the mouse to control a virtual hand to search, zoom in, and interact with details in the scene.
  • When you discover traces (for example, guns, ropes, strange objects...), you must use the drawing tool to recreate the correct position and shape of that item.
  • In addition, you have to fill in missing words in suicide notes, diaries or fragmented conversations to piece together the whole story.

Story content in Death Sketchbook

Every little clue will lead you deeper into a family tragedy:

  • Many unanswered questions remain after the discovery of Richard Green's missing body.
  • The wife had an affair.
  • Timmy—Richard's son—seems to have been deeply affected by the family incident. Those pent-up emotions grow with him every day, silently and unpredictably.

You are not just a player; you are playing the role of a psychological detective—having to put yourself in the character's mind to understand what they do, why they do it, and what will happen next.

Death Sketchbook is like a torn detective story, and you are the one who has to put it back together—with your eyes, intuition, and computer mouse. With a unique manual drawing mechanism, not drawing for beauty but drawing to identify the truth, the game brings a haunting experience. If you like games with a bit of mystery mixed with light horror, then Scarlet Carnate is the name you should not miss.
