A kid is hiding under the bed. His mother has called the police. "Stay there, don't move; the police will be here in 5 minutes." However, those five minutes feel like the longest time of his life.

5 Minutes is a short horror game developed as a school project by Santiago Garcia—and even in its demo form, it's enough to make you literally hold your breath.

How to play 5 Minutes

You play as a terrified kid hiding under the bed while a stranger—husky, slow, and absolutely terrifying—searches the house for you. All you can do is stay quiet, stay calm, and hold your breath.

"I can hear you breathing... Are you under the bed, sweetheart?"

You can hear him shuffling, whispering in your ear, cursing, and then suddenly going silent. The silences are more terrifying than the growls. Everything is against you—even the darkness, even you.

5 Minutes Experience

  • Pitch black: You can barely see anything. It's all darkness and breathing.
  • Direct interaction: You don't just watch—you really hide, really listen, and really breathe.
  • High psychological pressure: The experience of stalking someone for 5 minutes can make time seem endless.

From the player community

  • "I'm not a good shooter on 2K, but this game makes me want to crawl under the bed."
  • "It's whispering right in my ear… I hate that feeling, but I can't stop playing."
  • "I lost, but I still want to play again." I want to survive those five minutes."

Can you survive five minutes? There's no escape. It's just you—alone, in the dark, with your heart pounding. If you think 5 minutes hiding under the bed is stressful enough, imagine if every stroke in your sketchbook could kill you—that's Death Sketchbook.
