New Testament is a psychological horror game that puts players in the dark setting of an unfamiliar church. There are no monsters to chase, no guns to defend themselves—just escalating tension, strange sounds in the night, and a story that will make you shiver every minute.
You play as Carmelia, an 11-year-old girl sent by her father to live in an isolated church. You thought it would be a safe place, but as time goes on, you realize that something is wrong. The hallways are too quiet, the faces seem to be hiding something, and strange events keep happening. This church is hiding a terrible secret—and you are a part of it.
New Testament is a Point & Click game with survival elements. Collecting clues, solving puzzles, and finding a way out of the church when things become dangerous are your tasks. There is no combat, only choices—and each choice can lead to a different outcome.
The New Testament is full of illusions and visual deception. Sometimes, just because a character or a door appears, it doesn’t mean it’s actually there. If you feel like something is wrong, step back and look before you act.
Mirrors in games don’t just reflect your image; they can also betray you. Sometimes, what you see in the mirror isn’t you, but something else. If you notice that the reflection doesn’t match your movements, stay away.
The New Testament uses a dynamic environment mechanic. This means that returning from a hallway may be different than starting. Mark safe areas by placing small objects (books, candles, etc.) to check if the path changes.
There is a door with the number 7 erased. It can appear anywhere in the church. If you see it, do not open it immediately. Check your shadow on the floor. If your shadow does not appear, it means you should not open that door.
Most of the time, you can only run or hide. However, there is one resource that can come in handy—the ancient Bible found in the library. If you have it in your hand when an entity appears, it may buy you a few precious seconds to escape.
The church prayer book contains some torn or erased pages. But if you find those pages and piece them together, they might help you figure out the truth—or open up a different ending.
Sometimes, when you’re walking down a dark hallway, you’ll hear a whisper right behind you. Whatever happens, don’t turn around. Keep going straight, because if you do… you might never get to go any further.
New Testament isn’t just a horror game; it’s a haunting psychological experience. The stories behind the church doors will haunt you long after the game is over. Will you be able to escape, or will you be part of the mystery forever? Check out more great games, one of which is Escape your Birthday.
