Hood Episode 2 continues the mysterious journey from Hood Episode 1, in the haunted forest, where the player takes on the role of a father searching for his missing daughter following the villagers' instructions. The game combines adventure, horror and puzzle elements, creating a tense but curious experience.
You play as a lone father, following the trail of Cameron – the daughter who disappeared after the villagers whispered about "something" in the deep forest. From the very first steps, the game makes you doubt everything:
Unlike the first part, Hood Episode 2 gives you a hammer to destroy obstacles, a rusty sword full of menace, and especially a Jack-o'-lantern – not just a lantern, but an intermediary to talk to spirits. The challenge lies not only in puzzles but also in understanding the rules of this world:
Players meet many strange characters, from a strange orange creature, which may be a powerful but harmless spirit, to goblins who harass and even have to fight them. Some old spirits in the forest also appear, revealing many secrets about the forest and the dark forces that are lurking.
The main mission is to find Cameron, the missing daughter. Through the diary and the main character's story, the player gradually understands that the forest is not only inhabited by demons but also other dark forces that killed Cameron's father. The player gradually uncovers the connection between Cameron, his family, and the supernatural forces.
During the exploration, the player finds an ancient ship sunk in the swamp, with many strange technological devices and a mysterious control system. Cameron seems to have come into contact with and tried to decode these devices, forming an important part of the plot.
The player faces a dangerous supernatural force and must choose and solve challenges with available tools. The story ends with many mysteries left unsolved, promising that the next part will be even more exciting and dramatic.
The game has many shocking details, such as apples with teeth, goblins with nails in their heads, and dark people using daggers to kill people. Players also have to face ghosts and spirits, sometimes requiring ingenuity to avoid or fight.
