GrandMa's Delicious Cakes - A Forgotten Hill Tale is a puzzle-horror game that evokes unease from its very first minutes. You enter the house of an old baker; everything seems peaceful and fairytale-like at first glance, but the longer you stay, the more something feels wrong.
You wander around the house, opening cupboards, picking up items, and solving the familiar puzzles of the Forgotten Hill series. Each puzzle is related to baking, from finding ingredients to preparing strange steps. The problem is that the things you use are anything but normal, and the game doesn't hide that. Just a close look is enough to feel a chill, as if you're contributing to something that shouldn't exist.
The old woman in the game speaks softly, even showing concern for you, but that's precisely what makes everything even scarier.
The graphics feature the familiar hand-drawn style of Forgotten Hill, distorted, dark, and somewhat morbid. Objects appear alive, characters don't look normal, and the house itself seems to be devouring everything inside. The more you play, the more you understand that the tale isn't a story about cakes but about things hidden beneath a cute exterior.
When all the pieces are put together, players will understand why the cakes are so delicious and what the price of that deliciousness is. This is the kind of game that doesn't leave you immediately scared but rather sends chills down your spine when you think about it.
