Online Obsession is a yandere dating sim game combined with a psychological visual novel and mild horror, where you follow a lonely protagonist who meets a friend online… and gradually realises that this relationship is not as normal as it seems.

You meet Addison (Addie) through an online game called Star Blitz. He's sweet, caring, texts you every day, and remembers every little detail of your life. From innocent jokes, the relationship gradually veers into the hazy realm of intimacy and obsession.

And then one day, the two decide to meet in real life.

How to play Online Obsession

Online Obsession mainly focuses on reading – choosing – experiencing the story:

  • You interact through messages, computer interfaces, and simulated social networks, just like in real life.
  • Players can choose names, pronouns, and appearance, giving the story a very personal feel.
  • The game presents choices in dialogue, though the consequences aren't always clear.
  • Explore everyday situations: receiving gifts, going out to eat, strolling through Christmas markets, playing mini-games…
  • The gameplay isn't overly challenging, but it keeps you constantly on edge because you never know what's random and what's pre-planned.

Game Features

A very realistic atmosphere

The game perfectly simulates the feeling of waking up in the middle of the night to a phone notification, chatting aimlessly at 3 AM, and receiving unexpected gifts from online acquaintances. Everything feels so familiar… it's frightening.

Mysterious letters

From the middle of the game, you start receiving anonymous notes reminding you that food is about to spoil, that you forgot something at school, and warning you about things you've never told anyone. No one steals anything. There's no violence. But clearly, someone knows too much about you.

Addison – both sweet and suspicious

Addie isn't overtly insane. He's overly attentive, remembers every little detail, jokes charmingly, and is cute. But he always avoids showing you his true face. When you meet him in real life, Addison presents a completely different image than you imagine, and the game begins to shift to a darker tone.

Online Obsession is a slow-paced, subtle storytelling experience for those who like yandere but not overdone, psychological horror rather than jump scares. If you've ever met someone online and wondered, "How well do I really know this person?"—then Online Obsession will make you laugh and get chills down your spine at the same time. And if you enjoy horror music, then check out Sprunki Dandy's World as well.
