Exmortis is a horror game with simple point-and-click gameplay. The game has been around for a long time and has become one of the legendary horror games on the web platform. With its claustrophobic atmosphere and haunting storyline, the game leaves a creepy feeling long after it's over.

Where does the Exmortis story begin?

You wake up in the middle of a wild forest; your head is pounding, and your memory is empty. It's getting dark; the cold air is enveloping, forcing you to find shelter. In front of you is an old house, quietly hidden among the dense trees. There is no light from the windows, no sign of life. But outside is a deep forest, and here... at least there are four walls to shield you.

Only when you step inside do you realize—maybe you made a mistake. Inside the house, everything exudes insecurity. Strange traces appear everywhere; the space is eerily quiet, only occasionally echoing strange sounds from somewhere. After all, where is this place? What happened here? And most importantly—how to get out?

Gameplay

As a point & click horror game, Exmortis forces players to search for clues and decipher puzzles to continue exploring the mystery of the house. But don't expect an easy journey—because each door you open can lead to a more terrifying truth.

Explore the ruins

You will have to rummage through each room and open each door to find out who—or what—this place used to belong to.
A dusty diary with scattered lines tells of a mysterious force approaching.
An old clock stops at 1:30 AM—although it seems to have stopped working for a long time.
A freshly used knife rests on the kitchen counter.

Suspicious signs

Unknown objects litter the open microwave in the kitchen.
Down in the basement, you find strange symbols on the wall, drawn in a dark liquid.
In the attic, a figure hangs suspended, surrounded by incomprehensible symbols scattered everywhere.

Mysterious puzzles

Numbers like 1878 and 3489 appear everywhere—they seem to have some meaning.
A locked safe contains the book Exmortis—something that probably no one should touch.
The bathroom mirror is covered in strange marks, along with a scribbled line: “Remember…” ”—but remember what?

Unexplainable sounds and images

Footsteps echo even though you know you are alone.
Occasionally, you glimpse a figure standing at the end of the hallway, but upon turning around, you find nothing.
Vague whispers echo in your ears—or perhaps they come from within your own mind.

Without jumpscares or cheap scares, Exmortis instills fear by creeping into the player's mind in a slow but haunting way. This game has the power to keep you awake long after you've finished playing.
If you're a fan of horror games, this is definitely a name you can't miss. However, keep in mind that once you open a door, it's impossible to close it again. If you want to explore more games, Five Nights at Freddy's Final Purgatory is a suggestion.
