Cat and Granny is a first-person simulation game with a basic concept but executed in a rather absurd way: you play as a cat in Granny's small house, and instead of behaving well… you choose to turn it into a mini-battlefield. No sophisticated missions, no complicated plot, only one goal: cause trouble, but don't get caught.
It all revolves around daily life in a seemingly peaceful house. Granny brings home a new cat, and you don't like that at all. So instead of living harmoniously, you start causing trouble everywhere while trying to blame the other cats.
The story isn't told in a traditional way but is scattered throughout each small action. The more you play, the more you realize this isn't a pleasant life, but a series of chaotic days… created by yourself.
Cat and Granny's gameplay revolves around interacting with the environment. You can knock things off tables, spill potted plants, scratch furniture, or simply run around causing chaos.
But the interesting thing is that the game doesn't encourage indiscriminate destruction. You need to choose a time when Granny isn't paying attention or cause trouble in a way that makes her think another cat did it. The more skillfully you act, the safer you'll be.
Granny isn't a stationary NPC. She moves constantly around the house, reacting to noises and whatever you do. If caught red-handed, you have almost no way out. Therefore, memorizing the house layout, finding hiding places, and utilizing corners becomes crucial. The space is small, but every area can become a hiding place… or a source of trouble.
Cat and Granny is simple and a little chaotic but perfectly embodies the spirit of a quick, entertaining game: easy to get into, easy to play, and fun enough to make you want to try it again and again just to see how far you can outsmart Granny.
If you want to switch from land-based mischief to a different kind of chaos…where you’re no longer the cat but a predator underwater, then Feed Us 2 is a pretty interesting transition.
