A Date with Death

A Date with Death is an interactive visual novel mixing chat mechanics, dialog choices and romance. You play as Nina, a young woman living in her apartment, who is suddenly messaged by a mysterious app on her laptop. The sender claims he is the Grim Reaper and that he has come to collect Nina's soul. The problem is, Nina has no intention of handing over her soul to a stranger.

Character Customizations

Players can customize Nina’s appearance before the story begins by choosing from a variety of hairstyles, clothing and physical attributes. Players can also choose the name, background story and other personal details of the character. Inside the apartment, players can interact with various objects and a cat named Waffle.

Conversations with the Grim Reaper

The Grim Reaper appears via a chat app and repeatedly demands that Nina surrender her soul. But Nina is not so easily moved. Conversations between the two quickly turn into a back-and-forth exchange filled with questions, teasing, and humorous moments.

Grim Reaper attempts to keep up the front of a terrifying being, but Nina constantly inquires who he is. Players can ask about the Grim Reaper's background and job, or simply steer the conversation in a different direction.
