The Cabin Factory is an indie horror game with a simple but surprisingly haunting style. The initial feeling is quite similar to Exit 8, but instead of observing an endless hallway, this time you will step through 8 doors one by one—and behind each door is a mysterious Cabin room.
You will start from Cabin No. 1 and continue to Cabin No. 8. In each room, you only have two options:
Press the "Clear" button if you see nothing unusual.
Press the "Danger" button if there is any movement—because it could be a ghost.
But the question is: Are you alert enough to tell real movement from an illusion?
From the first seconds, you will find yourself surrounded by a dark atmosphere—flickering flashlights, ghostly pictures, and moving objects. Sometimes it's just a painting that seems to be following you, a foot moving slightly, or a curtain swaying that makes the player press the "Danger" button immediately.
Each cabin has a different horror tone:
Cabin 1: It seems to be a safe zone to get acquainted, but if you are not careful, you can still encounter unpredictable phenomena.
Cabin 3: The shadow of a child locked under the stairs appears—a detail that suggests a story of family abuse.
Cabin 5: A blank painting can be a warning sign of the appearance of a lurking entity.
Cabins 6 and 7: Increase the speed of fear with footsteps, door slamming and strange moving objects.
Cabin 8: Everything seems to be over, but suddenly a mysterious father appears—if you choose the wrong button, the game will take you back... to the beginning.
Unlike the usual jumpscare games, The Cabin Factory does not focus on loud screams or bloody images. It emphasizes suspicion, forcing players to examine every detail:
The ambiguity between real and fake, normal and abnormal, is what makes the game creepy in its own way.
The game has an option to turn on/off jumpscares, allowing players to adjust the level of fear according to their tolerance. If you are faint-hearted, you can completely turn it off and still experience the game from an exploratory-analytical perspective.
Although not told in the traditional way, through the cabins, you gradually see a broken family, children locked up and abandoned, and adults who seem to have lost their humanity. Those images creep in like broken memories, creating a smoldering sadness amid the creepy footsteps.
The Cabin Factory is not long, not complicated, but enough to make you startled and think. With simple gameplay, clear rules and a cleverly constructed creepy atmosphere, this is a suitable game for those who love the horror genre with a bit of reasoning. Just escaped that nightmare? Brace yourself for a new horror in The Creature in My Dreams.
