Kingdom Of Marionettes

Kingdom of Marionettes is a story-driven horror game that puts the player in the shoes of a security guard who takes job at a long-abandoned puppet theater. The hero, having no money, takes the job without much attention to the strange details of the job description. Their duties include keeping intruders out of the theater, cleaning the entire theater and making sure no puppets are missing or wandering off by themselves. It is only upon starting the shift that she realizes the final requirement is no joke at all.

Kingdom of Puppets and the Abandoned Theater

The Marionettes Kingdom theater was famous for the plays on the lives of puppets inside a kingdom. It had fan favorite characters, merchandise, and a character popularity contest- the Jester took first, the Knight took second, and the Wizard took third. After years of closure, the theater is now reduced to dark corridors, cracked walls, doors plastered with old newspapers, and flickering lights.

Players can explore various areas, clean the stage, inspect the puppet storage room, and monitor the security camera system while carrying out their duties.

The Puppets of Kingdom of Marionettes

Nighter, the Knight Puppet

One of the first puppets to be inspected is Nighter. His room is decorated with shields and reflects a knightly theme. Everything seems normal until the camera captures footage of a figure moving through the theater.

When the protagonist goes to investigate, Nighter has appeared in the middle of the hallway. Not only can he move on his own, but he is also capable of speaking and attacking the player.

Justin, the Jester of Kingdom of Marionettes

After the meeting with Nighter, the player is presented to a Jester puppet called Justin. He’s garrulous and amicable, introducing himself as the one who makes the kingdom laugh. Justin goes on to explain that each puppet plays a part in the Kingdom of Marionettes. And thus the heroine begins to understand that the theater has a world of its own, the laws of which she was not aware.

Mystery Part

The puppets in the theater are more than just props from old shows. Everyone, from the Jester and Knight to the King, Wizard, Maid and Priest, seems to have a part to play in the kingdom. The plot slowly uncovers the mysteries of a once-glorious nation, now fallen silent, filled by puppets anticipating transformation.

Kingdom of Marionettes is a story about exploration, watching cameras, defending the theater and fearing puppets who can walk by themselves. There are different endings and the players have to decide at some points.

A Date with Death is another great horror game to play after finishing this one.
