Jeep Horror puts you in the shoes of a jeepney driver working the graveyard shift, driving the empty streets of the Philippines. The work starts out the same: picking up passengers, collecting fares, making change, keeping an eye on fuel levels, and dropping everyone off at their destinations. But as the night wears on, the regular passengers begin to look suspicious. Some may be supernatural beings or killers in disguise, making you drive while watching constantly and making split-second decisions.
Every trip in Jeep Horror is about more than just completing the route. You have to keep an eye on every passenger, because danger could be right behind the driver's seat.
Players must pick up passengers, collect the correct fares, provide change, and monitor fuel levels to reach the end of the line. These seemingly simple tasks add a light management-simulation element to the game, while the nocturnal atmosphere heightens the tension of every ride.
The rearview mirror is an important device to check the cabin behind you. Another passenger might be a doppelganger of them; other entities could act weirdly or pop in and out of existence randomly. If you don’t notice them in time, they can attack the passengers or threaten you directly.
Jeep Horror blends survival, adventure, simulation, and strategy elements into a 2D horror experience. Drawing inspiration from Philippine horror culture, folklore, and mythology, the game presents threats that stem not only from terrifying creatures but also from the folktales woven into the gameplay.
Jeep Horror is compelling because of the juxtaposition between the ordinary driving job and the strange events happening inside the cabin. You have to watch the behaviour of the passengers, be alert for suspicious signs and decide who may stay in the vehicle.
