Hellfair is a free first-person horror puzzle game where you’re trapped in a haunted, rundown fairground. The machines are broken. The instructions are swearing. Clown Juice is a killer clown who can climb, hide, and is angry with you for trying to fix everything.

How to play Hellfair

You wake up with a clipboard in hand and a note from your co-worker: “Don’t fix the plug. Jerry left the motor somewhere. The gondola is still running. Don’t touch it.” But you’re a good employee. You fix everything.

  • Collect pistons, cables, and crank wires to get the machines running again in the park.
  • Escape the killer clown who chases you through each area as you assemble a new part.
  • Find detours and squeeze through wooden shortcuts to avoid the clown, as it is uncertain whether he will chase you through those areas.
  • Each repair is a checkpoint, but if you die, you must restart; the clown may be right around the corner.

Puzzle in panic

Repairing in Hellfair isn't just about finding the right part—it's about timing it so you don't get chased down.

  • Want a lift engine? You need a piston, a cable, and a crank.
  • Want to run away? Find the pad that triggers the checkpoint.
  • Want to live? Don't run out of stamina halfway.
  • And don't press the wrong button. Otherwise, you'll scream, "OH SH— HE HAS A KNIFE."

When the clown begins to climb the wall

At first, you think you're safe on the high ground. Then you see Clown Juice climbing the ladder and jumping over the railing.
Nowhere is safe.
Only quick repairs and quick runs will save you.

If you like fast-paced puzzle horror, constant running under pressure, rusty fairgrounds, bloody soundtracks, and twisted clown laughter. And if a clown likes to chase you because “your cheeks are mine, boy,” then Hellfair is the game for you. Free. Not for the faint of heart. Neither is it suitable for those who lack strength. If you like horror games but shorter then check out One Last Game of Checkers.
