Friday the 13th (NES) is a survival horror game that was released in 1989. The game is based on the famous horror film series of the same name, putting players in the role of summer camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake, with the main task of protecting children and their teammates from the murderous Jason Voorhees.
In the game, you will play as one of six camp staff, moving through the famous Crystal Lake area, fighting to survive against the constant threat of Jason. The game opens with an impressive (and maybe a bit creepy) scene, setting a dark atmosphere for the adventure.
The game has a structure that combines the general map screen and the side-scrolling screen, where you will have to search for cabins, collect items such as lighters and keys, and fight monsters, including zombies, wolves, and the ultimate enemy, Jason.
The combat system, especially with the stones, is not always effective, as they often fly off course in strange curves. To increase your chances of winning, upgrading to the knife is a must. Jason's appearance is signaled by a bell, reminding you to move quickly to the right cabin to confront him.
With its dark humor and innovative approach, Friday the 13th (NES) has become a cult classic for those who love the bizarre and challenging. Keep up the challenge with Midnight Cinema.
