Stay Away from the Lighthouse is a short but haunting indie horror games that puts you in the shoes of a lonely lighthouse keeper at sea. As night falls and all the lighthouses around you go dark, a panicked voice calls out over the emergency radio—a fisherman is trying to escape something that has risen from the depths of the ocean.

How to play Stay Away from the Lighthouse

As the keeper of the only remaining lighthouse, you will encounter a dark night in the game. The seemingly simple task—keeping the lighthouse light from going out— quickly turns into a silent battle for survival when a fisherman calls for your help in the dark and stormy night.

Start the lighthouse

• Find fuel tanks in the surrounding area to start the generator.
• Climb to the top of the lighthouse and turn on the searchlight—the light is your only chance for survival.

Emergency radio communication

• A fisherman contacts you, saying that something is chasing him out at sea.
• Guide him through the night using his descriptions of the terrain.

Locate and give directions

• Based on the map, you must carefully analyse geographical features (L-shaped islands, cross-shaped rocks, shipwrecks...) to choose the right and safe route.
• Wrong directions = disaster. The ship gets stuck, runs aground, or worse: is dragged to the bottom of the sea by something.

Facing invisible fears

• When the darkness is thick, you only have the lighthouse and the radio to keep hope.
• One wrong choice can make the fisherman – and you – disappear without a trace.

Note when playing

• The game has no checkpoints – choose wrong and you start over.
• Based on the map and description, you need to think logically and react quickly.
• Every decision leads to different outcomes – but is there any truly safe outcome?
