Sprunki Phase 17 is a horror mod of the Sprunki music game series, where familiar elements are twisted and distorted to the point of being almost… unrecognizable. The drag-and-drop mechanism for creating rhythms remains, but this time, what you play is not just sound, but a sense of unease that permeates every character design.
There's no clear story told, but Phase 17 feels like you're stepping into a flawed version of an old world. Familiar characters don't disappear…they're distorted. Simon appears with a saw. Clucker looks more like a failed experiment than a cartoon character. No one says what happened. But looking at them, you understand something very wrong. Each character is like a distorted piece of memory. It feels like they were once normal, but with each phase, they're gradually pulled toward something darker, heavier.
Basically, the gameplay remains the same: you choose characters and drag and drop them to create beats. But the problem is… you won't be fully focused on the music anymore. Each time you choose a character, you almost have to accept its design first.
The sound produced isn't necessarily bad. It's even quite catchy at times. But it comes with a very strange feeling, like you're remixing something that shouldn't exist.
Sprunki Phase 17 isn't a mod for everyone. If you're curious to know what happens when a seemingly harmless game is pushed to the extreme of bizarreness, then this is something worth trying. And if you want to escape this distorted world and step into a game of big fish eat small fish, then Feed Us is a great option.
