Red Thread is a logic investigation game where you act as a crow detective and solve crimes by discovering links between pieces of evidence. Gameplay is all about reading information, reasoning, and finding out the truth beneath disparate clues.

For each case you will be presented with different sorts of evidence, such as documents, witness statements, forensic reports and details of the crime scene. They may seem completely unrelated at first, but if you put them together correctly, you can slowly piece together what happened in the case.

How to play Red Thread

Derive and Flip Cards

Simply turn over the evidence cards, read what is written on them and identify information that is connected.

Bind two related hints; bind them together using a red string. A right link may bring further evidence or deeper understanding of what happened.

Last indictment

When you have enough information, you will get to the final indictment. Here you have to work out:

  • And who is the offender?
  • How did the crime happen?
  • What motivation does the evidence support?
  • How did you get that conclusion?

Crime-solving tips

  • Don't assume anything. Remain open-minded about potential suspects.
  • Link only credible information: Wrong connections might complicate the reasoning process.
  • Pay attention to the chronological order: The sequence of events can help you grasp what truly transpired.
  • Compare testimony with evidence. What witnesses say may not be what is discovered.
  • Verify before you accuse: One clue does not make a viable conclusion. You need other clues to back it up.
  • Think like a detective: See what the evidence actually is, not what you think it is based on feelings.

Red Thread is a distinct type of crime-solving gameplay, fusing evidence cards, logical deduction and the connection of clues with red thread. The intriguing part is that bits that seem unconnected to each other, when you locate the proper connection, slowly build up a whole picture.
