Last Light is a 2D side-scrolling zombie survival game, where you must escape from an underground lab filled with terrifying animals. You are stuck seven deadly storeys below the surface, where you will explore abandoned research rooms, collect vital resources, get access to restricted regions and fight off endless waves of undead adversaries.
The first thing you do in Last Light is pick a difficulty — Easy, Normal or Hard. Search the gloomy laboratory all day long for cash, ammo, keycards and other important goods. Color-coded keycards open and close locations, allowing access to adjacent rooms and perhaps escape routes. Stairs and lifts take you from floor to floor, closer to the surface and also to more dangerous circumstances.

During the day you gather resources, find new locations and build your defenses. But it is much tougher to survive when the clock strikes midnight. Enemies evolve and become more aggressive, attacking in waves and challenging your ability to hold your own against unfathomable odds. Another essential resource is electric power. The lab’s grid powers the doors, lighting and lifts. If not properly handled, the system may get overloaded with energy management. Then you can have zombies and sirens all over your walls. Find basement breakers to bring back power and keep systems running.
Your primary weapons against the opposing mutants are guns, but ammo is limited. Shoot straight, reload when you should and don't waste shots when the enemy's not coming down on you.
Also, you can build defense structures to increase your chances of surviving night attacks. Place static turrets around doorways and shoot the zombies as they bust through. Use vending machine barricades to block off vulnerable areas. With good positioning and precision shooting, you can hold your own against the mutant hordes.
Putting too much on extra defenses can leave you starved for weapon damage and valuable character upgrades. Combat skills and weapon proficiencies are also carried over from run to run, making you stronger and future escape attempts easier.
Last Light is an underground experience of zombie slaying, resource management, exploration and strategic base defense. Survival is more than simply having fast reactions. You will need to ration electricity, preserve ammo, upgrade your weaponry and prepare for the midnight onslaught. Each story takes you closer to freedom, but one wrong move can kill your whole escape.
