Backrooms: Escape Together is a multiplayer survival horror game inspired by the famous internet legend of the Backrooms. After an inexplicable incident, players are trapped in strange, liminal spaces where empty rooms, yellowed corridors, and fluorescent lights stretch endlessly. No one knows where this place came from, nor is it certain that an exit truly exists.

Backrooms: Escape Together Setting

Each floor of the Backrooms has its own unique appearance. Some resemble abandoned offices, some are flooded, and some are just cold walls and the crackling sound of old lighting systems. The feeling of unease doesn't come from what's visible but from something silently watching you in the shadows. According to the developers, the game supports 1 to 6 players exploring over 10 randomly generated Backrooms floors, making each experience unique.

How to Play Backrooms: Escape Together

Discover and Navigate Your Way

The main goal is to discover a method of entering further into each Backrooms floor in the hope of discovering the exit. Players have to look about, pick up stuff, and recall vital details. The map changes each playthrough, making remembering the way practically meaningless.

Solve Puzzles Under Pressure

Each area contains its own puzzles. Sometimes you have to find keys, activate electrical systems, or coordinate with teammates to open a path to the next floor. Meanwhile, strange noises at the end of the corridor can force the entire group to change their plans immediately.

Avoid Mysterious Entities

Backrooms are not empty. Many dangerous entities roam within this labyrinth, each possessing different hunting behaviors. Some entities respond to sound, while others emerge when the player is unprepared. Understanding their patterns is sometimes more important than simply escaping.

Backrooms: Escape Together creates a suffocating atmosphere with familiar yet unsettlingly distorted spaces. The feeling of being lost, the prolonged silence, and the fear of what lies ahead make each exploration a memorable psychological challenge. If you've survived the endless corridors of Backrooms, you can then face another bizarre world in Trees Hate You.
